Chisubara Akiko is the name of a student at the Xavier's Institute for Gifted Youngsters. She was born with obvious mutant feline features, and currently works as a bouncer at a local nightclub. She also goes by the name Crimson Rose.
Background
Chisubara was dropped off at the door of Xavier's School as a very small child, by parents who loved her, but feared for her safety after a few attacks on their home. She had a note pinned to her shirt that read, "Please take care of this child, we cannot keep her safe..." Life at the school is pretty much normal for her, not having known normal schools. The relative safety of the school is all she had known, learning and living among those who accepted and understood her. Unlike some mutants, the physical characteristics of her mutant ability were apparent from birth. She was running track when her X-gene powers manifested as superhuman speed to match her very feline appearance. She sped forwards and hit a fence, breaking her arm.
As she got older and felt more secure about leaving the school grounds, mostly for school trips, she got a taste of how the world was, and how it could be towards mutants. When old enough to visit such places, she started hanging out at nightclubs. Many times, she was chased out, but she tended to respect those who were in the nightclub protecting its staff, even when she was on the receiving end. Occasionally, when others would get rowdy in clubs where she was welcomed into, she would help with protecting the staff. She eventually found that she liked doing that, and gained employment with a mutant-friendly nightclub as a bouncer, which she does today.
Personality
Friendly and up beat in general, outgoing, but often quiet. She is caring of others overall, but when angry she tends to become a bit hot headed. Normally, she is very disciplined and calm the majority of the time. When angry (and this takes some doing to get her to that point), she becomes hard and as uncompromising as iron, burning with a cold fury that belies an impulsive nature that she normally tries to keep well under control.
